Our Traditions

Building Christian culture is part of the great commission. We have developed some all-school traditions that help us celebrate, press us to strive for excellence, provide an opportunity to create something beautiful, or allow us to serve others in need. Working together towards a common end brings out the aroma of love that makes school a pleasant place to grow. Our hope is students will remember these moments fondly and seek to build Christian culture wherever the Lord plants them.

Fall Kickoff

The first big gathering of the school year is not one to miss! It’s a festive evening of reconnecting friendships, meeting teachers, and enjoying carnival treats. Headmaster Culbertson has a charge for everyone and dedicates the year to the Lord.

Grandparents Days

Grandparents have an important role to play in the lives of their grandchildren and we seek to honor them at this special event. Grandparents have the opportunity to engage with their grandchild in their school environment and enjoy lunch together.

Thanksgiving Feast

The whole school gathers for feast and time of giving thanks to our great God! Everyone brings a dish to share and we end the day early with joyous song.

Evening of Carols

Our Evening of Carols is a semi-formal celebratory event centered on Christ. Everyone is included in the singing with special music presented by the student choirs and Agape Christi Patron Choir. Dessert and dancing close the night!

Speech Meet

Although it is emphasized in grades 10-12, rhetoric training starts young! Speech Meet is a school-wide competition of poetry and historical speeches recited from memory before an audience. Selections are carefully curated to fill young minds with what is true, good, and beautiful.

Agape in Action

We want the love of Christ to permeate our school and spread into the community and beyond. Agape in Action is our service-based fundraiser held in the spring. With the support of church and corporate sponsors and individual patrons, we have packed and shipped 50,000 meals to children in need!

Field Day

Food, family, fellowship, fun…that is Field Day! The annual school cook-out and field day is a great way to finish the year strong. There are athletic events and prizes for the whole family to participate.

Convocation and Commencement

Convocation is the last assembly of the year featuring special music from the student choirs and awards for excellent work. We include everyone in the commencement ceremony to recognize and celebrate the outstanding accomplishment of our diligent graduates.
